After 10 years working as a financial planner and investment advisor, Mike started Ataraxia in 2015.
Prior to becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, he spent several years in management and engineering roles for various Fortune 500 companies. He has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the Krannert School at Purdue University.
Active in the community, Mike has served in various capacities for a number of organizations including the Montgomery County Educational Foundation, his church’s finance council and Rotary International, where he is a past President of the Blacksburg Noon Club. He is also a part-time finance faculty member for the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech.
Mike resides in the New River Valley with his wife, Chrystal, and their 3 daughters. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys fishing and firing up the grill or smoker whenever he can.
