LPL puts out some informative charts in this post. One of the many items I found interesting is that since 1950 the median bear market has lasted 7.2 months. Considering we’re 5.5 months into this bear, we may be closer to the end than many people think.

Ex-Fed chair Ben Bernanke says don’t break out those bell bottom jeans just yet. He makes the case that although the Fed was slow to recognize how stubborn this bout of inflation would be, they know what it will take to bring it under control. The risk is the medicine (much higher interest rates) might kill the patient (the economy). Maybe some Bee Gees will help.
