Nice charts and commentary discussing how long it took for key economic indicators to recover after the last 6 recessions. Note that stocks tend to recover much more quickly for recessions which happen during long term (i.e. secular) bull markets such as the 1982 – 2000 bull.
Stocks take much longer to recover at the beginning or during secular bear markets (e.g. 2001 – 2009). Only time will tell if 2020 will be viewed as a recession during a secular bull or the beginning of the next long term bear.
