Medicare part b cost increase for 2020 (Medicare.gov)
A few weeks ago I pointed out that Social Security benefits would be going up by 1.6% in 2020. Now we know that some of that increase is going to have to cover a 6.7% jump in Medicare Part B. The monthly cost is going from $135.50 to $144.60 for most people.
A short history of how the charitable deduction came into being over 100 years ago. As a result of the 2017 tax law, charitable contributions went down by $15 billion last year, the most since the Great Depression. That’s prompted some recent proposals to make the charitable deduction relevant again.
